Successful Installation of 3 Slurry Bagtanks with the support of EAFRD Funding

During 2020 Yorkwold successfully installed 3 Albers Alligator 2,000m3 slurry bagtanks with the aid of a 40% grant from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development’s RDPE Countryside Productivity Scheme. The scheme aims to promote improved productivity and efficiency in agriculture. This project, which saw the installation of 3 slurry bagtanks on satellite arable blocks of land, enables a more efficient and effective use of pig slurry produced on Yorkwold’s Driffield pig units. The blocks of arable land where the bagtanks have been located did not have access to any slurries or manures and so the bagtanks now enable pig slurry to be efficiently spread on the hungry arable land, offsetting expensive and unsustainable artificial fertilisers.

The groundworks were completed by S&C Midgley Ltd and the bagtanks were installed by Tramspread Slurry Storage Ltd.
