Yorkwold completed the construction of their new state of the art nucleus/multiplication breeding unit at Lund Warren shortly before Christmas 2018. The unit holds 1,000 purebred Large White sows, as well as 8 weeks of post-weaning progeny.

The unit is to be run as 10% nucleus and 90% multiplication, with the 10% nucleus supplying the replacement breeding stock for the 90% multiplication. The multiplication sows in term supply replacement breeding stock into the Yorkwold commercial breeding herd.

The unit was constructed over 15 months by Staffordshire firm ARM Buildings Ltd and is being run by a strong team under Garry Cheetham.
